The Brief
Culina wanted to replace their old fixed resolution website with a new responsive minimalistic design. Page numbers and content needed to be reduced while still getting the Culina message accross. The design would be clean but should clearly show the Culina branding. Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) was lacking on the old website. We devised a tailor made SEO strategy to sort this issue out. Another wish was to incorporate social media into the new design.
Our Approach
The old website had a fixed sidebar which made the available space for the actual content really small. For the new website we used a design that utilises the full width of the device it is viewed on. We incorporated a map plugin into the design that is used to give an overview of all the depots across the UK and Ireland. It displays specific information about each depot and offers the option to get directions to a depot. A latest news section and Twitter feed were added to the homepage to keep the content of this page fresh at all times.
The Result
The feedback from employees and customers that have used the website has been very positive. Analysis has shown that the SEO strategy that was devised and deployed has proven to be successful. There has been a steady rise on Google rankings for search terms that were outset in the SEO strategy for the various pages on the new website.
